Mr. Colin Hume has formal training in rock mechanics and geotechnical engineering combined with 6 years of practical geomechanics experience specific to the mining industry. Mr. Hume has extensive on-site experience in underground mining operations with particular focus on rock engineering and ground control. He provides expertise in numerical modelling specific to complex underground mining problems and has been directly involved in many related projects while at MDEng. Mr. Hume frequently engages and provides expertise in projects involving geotechnical data collection, analysis and interpretation for rock mass classification, and domain delineation. He also has extensive experience in geomechanical mine design for feasibility and optimization studies. Mr. Hume holds a Master’s degree in Geomechanics from Queen’s University.
